Famous (and not-so-famous) Women Artists
ARED 6013-37802 Off campus, #519, Art at 2402, St. Paul
In honor of Women's History Month, increase your knowledge of women's
contributions to culture, while exploring a variety of art forms.
Become acquainted with the visual art of women artists, ranging from the
less well-known 17th and 18th century paintings of Artemisia Gentileschi,
Angelica Kauffmann and Elisabeth Vigee-Lebrun, to the more recent works
of Mary Cassatt, Georgia O'Keeffe, and Alice Neel. Study themes in their
work, and learn how to introduce them into your teaching through hands-on
projects. Create collages, papier mache figures, or signboards. Bring an
empty shoebox, egg carton, scraps of fabric, rickrack, old wrapping paper
for collage, alphabet stencils (if you have them), and a large box for carrying
objects home. Wear old clothes. Target audience: educators K-6.

9:00 p.m. Saturday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Feb. 12 & 13. Chittenden &
